What qualifications do Totum Naturopaths have?

Katherine Bibby has a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Naturopathy.

Hunna Armstrong has a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Naturopathy and an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine.

Katherine and Hunna are both members of the NHAA. 

 

What to expect from an initial consultation
A thorough understanding of your presenting imbalance will be gathered through an extensive conversation to acquire knowledge of all the factors that make up you.
·     Current health imbalance
·     Past health history
·     Family health history
·     How you nourish yourself with food, movement and rest
·     Where you sit emotionally with yourself
·     A run through of the body systems that support your internal & external structure
·     Obtain knowledge of physical signs that may indicate your current health imbalance.
An individualised, goal focused treatment plan will be presented to you with an outline of your stages for healing. 
Before you leave you will gain knowledge, awareness and a better understanding of your body in its entirety, as well as a clear, sustainable guide to supporting all areas of your health.
 

What to expect from a follow up consultation
Wherever you are in your process, the follow up with us will be used to track your progress allowing room for changes and modifications, as well as guiding and supporting you as you transition through your stages of healing.  
These sessions are a way to keep you motivated and accountable as you carve your own health outcomes, knowing we are here to support and guide you along the way. 
Cancellation policy for Naturopathy consultations
We require 48 hours notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule your Naturopathy consultation to avoid a cancellation fee of 50%. 
How do online consultations work?
Online appointments are conducted via zoom which is a safe and secure video platform. Once you have elected to book in online, you will receive a link to access your scheduled zoom consultation. With all online consultation, please ensure you have quality internet connection. 
Do you do offer functional/pathology testing? 
We will only recommend testing if it is indicated for the patient. This will either be functional testing through us, which is an additional expense for the patient, or we may refer to a Doctor for further investigations. 
Are herbs & supplements include in the cost of the first appointment?
No, any remedies needed throughout treatment are an additional cost. This cost varies dependent on individual assessment. 
Do you offer private health rebates? 
Unfortunately as of April 2019, health insurers are no longer allowed to offer rebates for Naturopathy. We are hoping that they will be reinstated in the future.

What are the health benefits of flower essence’s and essential oils?

Flower essences are produced through imprinting a flowers energetic properties into a carrier solution. They are a traditional therapy dating back to the 12th century, and have been dispensed over this time to support mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Essential Oils are extracted from the bark, sap, flower and leaves of plants to provide a healing action via the olfactory sense. Essential oils provide their benefits through emitting scents in which can trigger an emotional response to promote healthy mental and psychological wellbeing. Aromatherapy has been practiced for centuries by many different cultures.

Both these therapies are gentle on the body, and work in combination with a healthy diet and lifestyle to promote wellbeing.

 

Are your products organic?

Most of our products are 100% Australian Certified Organic, with the exception of our herbal and nutritional supplement, Resilience (see product for details). We take pride in quality of our products, and are extremely mindful when sourcing ingredients.

 

How do you develop your products and where are they made?

All of our products are developed by us (qualified Naturopaths), and are made lovingly in Northern NSW, Australia. Our therapeutic herbal and nutritional supplements (Resilience) are manufactured in QLD, Australia. 

 

Are your products vegan?

All of our products are 100% vegan.

I’m pregnant, are your products safe to use in pregnancy and lactation?

How do I best store my products?

To maintain the integrity of all products please keep in a cool, dry place. Ensure you place your essential oils, Rise & Rest Essence, and herbal tea out of direct sunlight. Due to the integrity of the Miron glass, your Resilience can be directly stored in sunlight increasing the potency and therapeutic value of it’s ingredients.

How do I best dispose of my products?

All products have been intentionally designed to reuse or recycle, we wholeheartedly encourage you to do so. We suggest contacting your local council for more information on recycling in your area.

 

I just purchased a product and it looks/smells different to last time?

As all of our products are made of natural ingredients, and some are handmade, variations can occur from batch to batch. If you have any other concerns about the quality of your product please email us directly at info@totumnaturopathy.com

 

I just bought Mellow & Union essential oil, are they safe to ingest?

Essential oils exert most benefit when smelt not ingested. We do not recommend ingesting essential oils.
